It's very common for most internal and company trainers to rise through the ranks and move into the position of "trainer" because they are usually the most familiar and adept with the products or services and they are already in place. These people have also shown they're able to share their knowledge and expertise with good results. Unfortunately, history also shows that many of these "through the ranks" trainers are promoted into a position for which they are not fully qualified.

To be a truly skilled trainer, there are many critical skills and knowledge sets that a fully qualified trainer must have. While these hard working trainers might be getting the job done, they could be far more effective if they were properly and fully trained.

"Train the Trainer!" program covers many important areas of training, adult learning, presentation, and curriculum development techniques which makes huge differences in the final desired outcomes.

The training session will focus on Communication and Presentation skills, and Teaching styles. These areas would be evaluated to determine areas of potential improvement and fine-tuning.

In addition, the different needs in styles and techniques required for the various company personnel with whom the trainers have to train would be reviewed and addressed as part of the initial evaluation.

This usually requires a minimum full training day and would involve the following:

1. A video taping session where each participant* would be video taped.
2. A presentation training session to review presentation methods techniques.
3. A review of each taped person to evaluate and compare the needed techniques and methods and receive coaching.
4. A rehearsal period to practice and achieve the new coaching goals.
5. A new video session of repeated presentations.
6. A review and critique of each presentation.
7. Create a follow up program for continued improvement.
8. Create customized processes for different audiences and training skills.

 

(* Each person would present a complete 7-10 minute presentation utilizing required program presentation equipment, workbooks, etc. Each presentation should represent a cross section of the various training topics for the different personnel being trained. This will assist in evaluating different presentations styles to different audiences.)
